Villian will have a smaller set or AK way more often than he'll have AA or 86 on this board. I 3-bet and hope villian caps every time.

Am I the only one here who folds on the flop, or at the very least, doesn't raise the flop and bet the turn? How often are your kings ever good with action on an ace-high flop?

I think the raise is ok. I am surely not folding. I see donks bet into me with draws or bottom pair when I am the pfr all the time. BB slowed way down after the raise, so I am not worried about him. I would guess he had 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

I think our KK's are good most of the time with action just like that on the flop.

oh and to the op, you played it ok.

Does everybody see what the villain is doing here? Seriously, he did not play this hand that badly at all.

Why should one of them have an ace when we're only 3 handed? The odds of someone having an ace are

1-(1-3/47)*(1-3/46)*(1-3/45)*(1-3/44),

or around 23%. We're very likely ahead in the 75%+ chance that no one does. This is an easy, easy value bet.

Fun facts: odds of someone having an ace if we hold KK and there's an ace on the flop, assuming random cards:

2 handed: 12%
3 handed: 24%
4 handed: 34%
5 handed: 43%
6 handed: 53%
10 handed: 82%

Obviously the real chances (apart from 10-handed) are going to be much higher since so many will see a flop with any ace, but even when it's 10 handed to the flop you could likely bet for value, depending on how its texture looks. It'd be close though, since the odds of someone having 2 pair or a set would be a bit higher.

That's not to say that re-raising is bad here. It's certianly not -EV to 3-bet; I just think it's more +EV to just call. I could be wrong.

Is this possible HU?

BB has a 7 or a FD a lot of the time here ..

you have to bet this turn!! the flop raise might be bad(I don't believe it is, but I don't have reads on BB), but that turn bet is 100% manditory with the set

Flop: (8.50 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
BB checks, MP1 checks, Paxosmotic bets, Hemstock calls, BB folds, MP1 calls.

Turn: (5.75 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
MP1 checks, Paxosmotic bets, Hemstock calls, MP1 folds.

River: (7.75 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
