Nice reply, but face it: you put him on a bluff and he showed you the nuts.

Amazingly, you could still understand what he was saying. Save your red ink.

Imagine that, a doctor who has bad handwriting and/or spells things incorrectly.
Never seen that before... |

"it's effect" [/ QUOTE ] If you're going to go to the trouble of making a big post dedicated to correcting someone, at least get it right. "Its" is only used with an apostrophe if it's being used as a contraction. |

Re: Phillips\' wonder drug (also posted on WPT forum)
I visited the doctor this afternoon and was prescribed provigil upon my request. I specifically told him I wanted to try it to see if it would enhance my ability to focus and disseminate information while playing poker.
I play poker for a career, live only, and have been using psuedoephedrine and vast amounts of coffee to stay aware and focused at the table. Modafinil appears to be a safer, cleaner alternative. If anyone is interested I will keep them updated on my impressions of provigil-Modafinil. As far as any ethical issues, I don't really want to get into that discussion. I feel totally comfortable and justified in my decision to try provigil. Before people jump on Paul Phillips as an influencing force on players, his decision to use provigil had no impact on my own decision. I was researching the drug before he publicly disclosed his own use. Plus, I am a 27 year old man, not a 14 year old boy looking to emulate a role model. |

He didn't claim to be an award winning editor. Stop being a critical nit. [/ QUOTE ] It is a generally accepted fact that highly skilled professionals have mastered the basic skills of reading, writing, and speaking. Most people who have a demonstrated deficit in one of these critical communication skills are not highly skilled professionals in anything, unless the language being used is not the mother tongue. Do you really think that this is not true? Is it important to not have spelling and grammar errors on a resume? If you answer yes, then explain why you think an award winning doctor would not proof read his own post about something that reflects on him. In my experience, highly skilled professionals take pride in their work. This didn't look like pride or skill. It looked like a pissing contest. For someone trying to win a pissing contest, you would think he wouldn't leave himself open to this kind of criticism. |
