Yeah I'm about to buy one myself. I think it will be great to be able to play some poker when I am traveling.

Thanks for the tip! Just picked up a 8600 w/ WUXGA, 60 GB 7200 HD, DVD+RW/+R for $1100! (including the shipping rebate)

Damnit. This deal was too good to pass up, and now I have a $1000 laptop that I didn't really need. Oh well, I'll just sell my old Inspiron 5150 on ebay. It sucked for poker anyways.

I've got the checkout screen up and I'm very tempted to spend $1200 right now.

Anyone know how often this rebate comes around?

Default Also great coupon for 2001fp

Just a heads up - on the same website there is a coupon to get the 2001fp for $609 shipped.

I must say, it was tempting to instead buy a WUXGA laptop for only about $250 more, but in the end, I went with the 2001fp (my second).

Where do you configure the monitor on these things. Does the 8600 automatically come with a uzga screen b/c I can't find where to select that on the configuration page.

You select a screen/processor combo together in the first set of options.

I noticed that for the Pentium M processor speeds they jump from 1.6ghz to 2.0ghz for an extra $310. How much of a difference is this in P4 terms, and is it worth it? Also, what is the difference between WXGA, WSXGA, and WUXGA?

I'll be using this and my desktop to 4-table and play video games at the same time.

a 1.8ghz P-M is also just as fast a 3.0ghz pentium 4. SO, I would strongly recommend getting the pentium M.

forgive my ignorance, but can you explain how this is possible? i'm embarassed to be a cs major that knows nothing about computer hardware.
