You can play the sane good players or at least not real bad.

I'll play the insane bad players.

the players in the full games make their share of mistakes. the ones in the 6-max games make different mistakes. it takes a different skill set to capitalize on those mistakes. even if I could be making slightly more at the shorthanded tables, I'm happier at full tables.

at first it seems that the full game is a lot tougher than it is. play it for a week or two and you'll make the necessary adjustments

I do a combination of big pot sizes and buddy list searches. I like 2 soft spots, but loose table action takes precedence.

according to Dave, you're "indiscriminent" in picking tables

I think its funny that you like playing with sane people. I mean, I like your explanation. I think the 6max is a much easier game, but swingy as hell as you know. Anyway, when I played full... I just chased the high pot avgs. I think it worked well enough. Sometimes it was because of ultra agressiveness, but I like that challenge sometimes too. More often than not though, it was because too many people were in hands coldcalling and etc. I really want to work on getting more scientific with PT as some others mention. It just seems like it could take too much time/effort... but I should give it a honest try.

He's simply wrong. How would he know something like that?

Omniscience.

Actually, I watched you pick tables at Shaun's and they were just pot size based, which at 5/10, I think, is nearly at random given how long the large pot size table waits can get.

First, I monitor the pot size after sitting. If it drops by the time I get called, I don't even sit.

Second, that was hardly a real session. I just didn't bother with moving around, b/c I just wanted you to see me play some hands.

Fair enough. I'll generalize and say that, in the era of data mining on Party, anything other than following bad players is fairly random table selection.

I'll disagree, and say one fishy does not an aquarium make.
