I pretty much agree with everything people said here. I played this hand poorly. Thanks for verification.

raise preflop=good
flop bet=good
turn bet=is a must
river bet(you can get people to fold a weak pair often), fold to a raise
right?

I like the check on the turn, because it allows you alot of options. You'd be happy to have them check it through, but if one limper bets and the other folds you can get in a checkraise here. I like a checkraise here and then bet out the river to try and get this guy to drop if he has a nine or AQ.

True your line costs you two bets, where as the one I'm suggesting costs you three and maybe even four if he reraises the turn. But your line is unlikely to get someone with a better hand to let it go.

If you put one of the limpers on a pair, you don't have a hand to protect so checking the turn is not terrible, but when it goes bet, fold behind you, against most opponents I would raise.

If anyone cares, not that it matters much, but my opponent folded and I took it down.

I'm glad you won the pot but I doubt your opponent had much of a hand. Consider what he should be thinking: If he bet anything but a draw on the flop, why check the turn? Clearly the 4 did not beat him.
Unless you make a habit of betting the flop and check-raising the turn w/ top pair/overpair, you can safely conclude that your opponent was on a draw, on he was an idiot.

Yeah I assume he had a J, and maybe there was a small chance he had 77 and folded.
