I disagree. A lot of it has to do with my play, but people are not ramming this board looking for a call.

[/ QUOTE ] yes, it may well be that c/c c/c is the right thing for you but not for me. i think, if he has me beat, i get stacked if i call down. if he is bluffing he won't try it on the river again. if he has a mediocre hand that i can beat like QQ, TT etc. i think i have a better chance to get value by moving in on the turn instead (and i don't give his 2 or 3 outer a free card). |

Re: KK facing resistance postflop
Let me get this straight. You play agressively enough that a check raise all in on the turn is going to get called by TT but you don't think it's at all conceivable that 77 is trying to push you off a bigger pair?

[/ QUOTE ] sure, it is conceivable that 77 is trying to push me off a bigger pair on the river but i think it is less likely than the chance to get called by TT and the risk that the opponent hits his 2/3 outer combined. i am not very imaginative, but any action is conceivable at the poker table. |

Re: KK facing resistance postflop
[ QUOTE ]
i don't think this is a valid point. i made a relatively small sized bet to balance my continuation bets (with overcards). the opponent has a maximum of 3 outs if i am ahead, that means i don't have to bet more to cut his odds. *edit* ooops. i ment 5 outs [/ QUOTE ] I was not suggesting to bet more to cut his odds. The reason I proposed betting a larger amount is because you are OOP and the villain is much less likely to make a stab at stealing the pot from you if you lead out with a PSB. That's just the way I see things, but maybe I'm way off here. |

Re: KK facing resistance postflop
Bet $20 on flop and after that it's much easier to put him on a hand depending on his actions.
There is no way you can know what he is holding now. He might think your small bet on flop indicates weakness or he might aswell have a very good hand you just can't know. If you bet $20 and he raises you have to give him credit for having a good hand, in that situation I would probobly call and see what happens on turn... But the thing is that he would probobly not try to steal this pot if you would have bet $20 on the flop. |
