Arab guy seems frustrated and goes all-in

Baldy shows his hand to a friend behind him and says "This is how you misplay your hand"

This is why I love live play and hate internet

a word is only racist if it is meant to underly a sense of superiority or hatred regarding the race it describes. Those words do not have to contain that meaning and were probably meant in a different light. It's kinda like when a gay guy calls another gay guy a flaming faggot. Or when a black guy calls his friend a nigger. It's all about implied meaning. But then again that could have been racist.

Eithr way that is one of the easists calls i have ever seen.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is nothing like that. These posters don't know this man at all and are calling him "durka" which from Urban Dictionary.com means:

1. someone from the middle east whose a totally jackass, [censored], bitch, etc

2. A stupid Arab person.

A bunch of non-Arabic people high-fiving eachother and referring to an Arabic person this way in such a dismissive way is obviously racist. Being an apologist for it is too.

(There's no poker content coming up.)

So, what's wrong with calling him durka if he is, in fact, a jackass from the Middle East? If there's a specific word to describe someone, why not use it? Or if someone is from the Middle East and is not stupid, but you're mad at them and call them a durka, is that any different from calling someone from America stupid? (Other than the Middle East part) Is there another meaning to this word other than what UrbanDictionary says (historical, extremely derogatory)? I'm seriously asking because I don't know and I rarely hear this term.

Also, only 1 person said it, so, you know.

I have just seen the word thrown around a lot on the forums, by more than 1 person. I don't know about the historical context, and don't care to find out, sorry. No reason to keep bumping this thread though.

At the borgata 2-5 game, there is no way you can fold this hand. AK with one or no diamonds could be very likely here as well as any pocket pair.

[/ QUOTE ]

You obviously have no idea what the play at Borgata is like (in fact you don't even know that the casino's name has no "the" in it; rather it is simply "Borgata")
If you have logged as many hours in the 2-5 game as I have, you would know that the villain almost certainly is holding a 2. His hand range is roughly 80% 26os, or if his is a good player, A2os and has reasoned that his A pair outs are good.
In the future, PLEASE try and get a feel for the nature of the game you are discussing before commenting.

I had a great time logging collectively 22 hrs playing 2/5 this weekend at Borgota. Question, where is the Pachenga from? Sam H. a regular, fun-great guy to play with always says pachenga hoping to suck out.

On another note to all you tools that hi-jacked this thread with arguments on durkah-durkah and racism. Who cares and take it to another forum. Main guy - Jason. Get a life, everyone is entitled to their own opionon and if you get fired up about a durkah-durkah comment you need to get out more - oh... and rent Team America and watch it 5 times over in a day, I am sure you will explode.
