Mr Lycky's 24/7 at the Hard Rock always has consistent diner / coffee shop food.

Not to mention they serve bottled Fiji Water.

The Snack Bar at the Bellagio has great burgers and sandwiches. Plus when I was there last week I got a $15 comp from the poker room to eat there.

I KNOW - honestly, I used to think that the burgers in Canada were good - then I got an education.

In N Out and Fatburger are two of the best - but even Carl's Jr. Six Dollar Burger puts pretty much anything we got here to shame - and that's not even considering the tasty little morsels you can get at Hamburger Hamlet.

I had the champagne breakfast at the Bellagio and it kicked serious ass. I have heard a lot of people compliment the buffet at the Wynn. We at at the Terrace Pointe Cafe at the Wynn for breakfast and it was VERY good - the pancakes were some of the best I have ever had.

If you don't mind paying, the best restaurants in Vegas (for dinner) are the following:

Spago's (Caesar's Palace)
Postrio (Venetian)
Le Cirque (Bellagio)
PRIME (Bellagio)
Aureole (Mandalay Bay)

[/ QUOTE ]

eh. most of them are pretty good, but they're far from "the best" in vegas. these are superior:

Craftsteak in MGM
Picasso
Bouchon (Thomas Keller's place someone else mentioned)
Italian seafood place at Wynn....forgot the name
Alex at Wynn

IIRC LoS is both cheap and tasty. It's Thai food, so it'll probably be pretty spicey.

another less pricey, more fun and hip place would be Fix at Bellagio. great food, great atmosphere.

As others have said, you can't go wrong at any of the places in Bellagio or Wynn, and I especially like the noodle place at Bellagio for a mid-price-range meal, and Wing Lei (I think that's what its called) at the Wynn for upscale chinese. Shanghai Lilly at Mandalay Bay is also awesome for upscale chinese.

Drai's is one I haven't seen mentioned that I've always had excellent meals at. Try the corn-mashed-potatos. I know it sounds wierd, but they are great. Their desserts are usually great too.

Luxor steakhouse is pretty damn good. Aurole's at Mandalay is great. Nobu at the Hard Rock is great sushi. Simon at the Hard Rock is pretty good too -- they have a lot of wierd dishses (e.g. they serve cotton candy for dessert) but its usually tasty. Lawry's is good if you want prime rib.

Vegas has so many great places to eat, usually if you ask the concierge at any hotel and tell them what type of food you are looking for AND ask them to recommend someplace outside of their own hotel, they'll be able to give a great recommendation. (Sometimes the best answer is in their hotel, but they will almost always try to sell you on one of their restaurants first, which is why I usually ask for something outside the hotel first).

I have to agree with all the votes for Craftsteak. I had a sugar mama take me there once and it was amazing. One of the best meals I've had the fortune of eating.

I'd also suggest Cafe Ba Ba Reeba in the Fashion Show Mall across from the Wynn. It's a tapas bar and I found the food fresh and delicious, as well as a nice change of pace from the heavier meals I'd been eating all week. I heartily recommend it.

At the Wynn:
Okada (Compared to Nobu but i think it's BETTER)
Alex

Bellagio:
Le Cirque
Fix (For a casual steak dinner)

MGM Grand:
Mesa Grill

If you haven't been to any of these "chains" i'd take a shot at them, i have chains in quotes because these restaurants cannot be found just anywhere

Smith and Wollensky
PF Changs
Maggianos

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the Steakhouse at Circus Circus and Andre's at the Monte Carlo. They may not be located in the swankiest hotels, but the food is absolutely incredible at both... pretty expensive too.

IMO the best buffet in town is at the Aladdin, but it's a little pricy... For a nice meal I think the best value for your $ are the restaraunts in the canal shops at the Venetian. I'm particularly fond of Taqueria Canonita... they have the best salsa I've ever tasted.

Jason's Deli 1 block south of the Boulevard Mall on Maryland (I think it's on Maryland and Flamingo, but I'm not sure) is really good for a quick, cheap lunch.
