As trite as it may sound, I've always found that when I'm in that giving mood, something always presents itself...
Keep your ears open and know you don't have to necessarily give it to a "big organization," but there may be small ones, right in your own community, doing good work to help people right in your area. Sadly enough, there is never a shortage of people in need. (For more on this subject, Sports Night had an excellent episode in their run dealing with just this thing.) Seriously, I have been donating monthly to the CCF (Christian Children's Fund) and have really gotten alot out of it. Our family now exchanges letters with a family in Africa and we send lots of toys and things for the children in this particular family. Money too, obviously. A couple hundred makes no difference to most of us, but its a huge deal for them. Im an atheist, BTW. Tuco. |
