Exactly. Link to Pokerworld affiliate site.

which i have absolutely nothing to do with.

the short version on the death of toejam?

when paradise approaced me about hosting the tourney to beta their private tourney software, i insisted it be a 2+2 event. i worked my fuking ass off on them as a MEMBER of 2+2 NOT and employee of paradise.

being the social butterfly i am, and NEVER wanting to detract from kotz, i opened it to the whole of 2+2. i absolutely refused to make it a knock-off or to compete with kotz cuz that is smarmy. there are many here with PM's from me prior to toejam 1 that could prove this.

i received a PM yesterday that future toejam promotions are limited to ONE POST, ONE THREAD per event. this was the direct order from the top.

my objection is based on the fact that this tourney was not in place for anyones personal gain, just to actually bridge the forums and perhaps create an even higher sense of community that already exists.

soooo, i was working my ass of for something that was designed to benefit 2+2, actually included links to 2+2 at paradise and with hunderds of emails received at the tourney addresse.

so, i made sure to drive new people here, which in turn would lead to larger member base, more book sales etc. ALL of this done as a non-employee of both entities.

so who complained? i don't know. i did not ask, i just said "no problem" when told of the ONE POST limit.

the reason i did not ask is because i don't care. if the owners don't want it, i surely am not going to organize it because they benefitted alot more than myself or even paradise.

i suspect mason got a ton of complaints. i suspect they were because i posted the short post about the tourney in all the forums and bumped them ONE time when registration was open.

i only cross posted to all because in toejam one i had people complain that i did NOT include their forum. in all cases, ALL CASES, the toejam cross posts were single announcements at other places that were buried immediately. only at the zoo was it discussed more, but never more than kotz is (actually, a LOT less)

however, like i said, even with the bumps for "Registration Open" cross posted on the other forums, these 2 posts were buried quicker than a dead jew during the sabbath. they crashed to the bottom of the page in 3 minutes flat, buried for all of eternity.

the complaints to conjelco were either by the new group of enforcers, or a group that has made it quite clear that they do NOT want toejams to happen because it steers people to their precious little secret poker forum and therefore helps others improve. i guess they fear their mediocrity in poker skills was in jeopardy if i attracted new people to the zoo and 2+2.

the "enforcers" i later found out are a harmless group that i had always thought as semi-friends, and certainly no threat.
the group that wants to keep 2+2 a secret and detested the toejam connection for paradise players FOR SURE included people whom i thouht were friends and allies.

either way, i learned a lesson on who to trust and who not to in the furure. life is all about learning.

fwiw, toejam was an all 2+2 event. i will NEVER make it an all zoo event because i don't want to compete with kotz. i have been defensive of kotz as OUR event. soooo, if i can make only one post of my own, and limit it to only one thread, then it certainly can't be an all 2+2 event.

where would i put this one post? what if someone asked me a question, could i answer?

mason did not shut down toejam. granny did because of the restrictions mason put on the promotion of the event.

the anger i have is that the complainers and mason seem to share the same ignorance on the intent and benefits of what toejam was.

it was a fuking saturday night home game for 2+2, but was demonized by a group of whiners and mason gave in. THAT is what blows. for one of the world's most read and most respected and famous poker authors, he seems to have lacked some of the business acumen that would have made him step back and defend toejam.

caving to mob mentality is not a respected trait imho.

yes, this was the short version. thx all who supported tourney 1 and 2

That sucks granny. Why do they let a thread like "forum enforcement" run rampant, and limit poker related posts? Makes no sense to me.

Why do they let a thread like "forum enforcement" run rampant,

because it is the zoo, because it does no harm, because it was supposed to end in 24 hours and would have been buried from then on.

toejam complaints are easy to react to by management because you have to only stifle one person. the forum enforcement thing would hve required targeting all or locking the thread and neither was necessary.

honestly gabyyy, this whole thing has me more saddened than angry. i have personally used toejam to help me recover and keep busy. so for selfish reasons, i could not be more sick about it.

one day maybe i'll tell about all the people i privately staked in these just so they can be part of the fun. people from the beginners forum and small stakes that wanted in but could not afford it.

if i showed you my list of transfers at paradise, you would understand how much i thought i was doing a good thing for poker and community at 2+2. anyway, it is water under the bridge.

i can be pissy and feel sorry for myself like regular mortals, or i can be GrannyMae and continue to support the zoo, kotz, my new love in the "other topics" forum etc.

i choose to continue to be GrannyMae until they shut me down from posting as well.

defenestration

There best not be any throwing out of windows lest they be done in my presence!

Seriously though, Granny, that blows! I thought the camisa tourney was one of the funnest tourneys I've played in a long time. I was rooting my table on and probably caused at least 3 all-ins that wouldn't have happened otherwise. I don't like this new turn of events at all

You have done enough already, with your 80 character title header for your post about KOTZ.

How about this, next time you want to make a post just actually post "THE TOPIC" instead of posting the entire message in your subject line!

If we both always did what other people suggest, how many times would you have put your head in a public toilet and flushed?

I just wonder

Granny,

Someone on this site has some serious problems and needs some intense wall to wall counseling.

The tourney was a lot of fun and needs to continue. KOTZ is a competition and is treated as such. This was just for fun as a social engagement.

Mason needs to relax and quit letting peoples complaints get to him unless they stem from a post that is either offensive, slanderous, or spam (which this definitely was Not). C'mon guys, it's a forum.

Geez I am disappointed.

yes he does stage. however, as always i support managements right to dictate what they deem best for the place. i have always fought the trolls that felt they could run amuck and do as they wish.

as a matter of fact, my intentions were never to have mentioned this, just to have TOEJAM fade away. then i read a post late that night from the person i replied to first in this thread. his statement just hit me in such a way that i decided to say something.

but STILL, out of respect for conjelco, i told this tale in a thread that most think is about casino gambling and will continue to pass it by and never read of the demise of the tourney.

if i was a whiny little bitch like the rest of the people that get stiffled here, i would have created a thread about this and attempted to rally for support. out of respect for the owners, i have not done this and won't do it.

lastly, i have not answered a single of these troll messages persosonally, but for those that have PM'd or emailed me and told me that i "have a lot of nerve bashing mason since he has always let me get away with my jokes on him", i have this to reply to ALL of you at once

yeah, he has been a good sport, but he could have stopped that if he wanted almost 3 years ago.

Look elsewhere. We sign our work. We have agents that enjoyed the tournament.
