Almonds are totally different.
People who are allergic to "tree nuts" ie (walnut, hazelnut, etc) and those who are allergic to Peanuts can often (but not always) eat almonds which although aften classified as a "tree nut" may truly be a "pit". Although cashews are the one that are similar to poison ivy. But I contend the one most unlike the others in the list is almond. I incidentally am allergic to "tree nuts" and to peanuts but can eat almonds fine. X |

Poison Ivy is part of the cashew family. Urushiol is the rash-causing oil in the ivy and in the cashew nut shell.
