Default i see the light

At first I hated raising this turn. But what are his likely holdings? A-10 would 3-bet the flop so no. K-J and A-J raise preflop so no. that leaves 7-8, 8-9, 9-10, 9-j, 10-j, q-j and 8-j. With 2-pair or the straight he will reraise on the turn and you will know to fold the river if unimproved. Otherwise you are ahead and your raise is for value. However, you MUST bet the river if he just calls the turn and a blank falls. This makes up for the times when you are behind and get 3-bet on the turn.

Would he really?

You sure about that?

What makes you so sure he'll reraise the turn with two pair on that board? If he's decent he'll 3-bet to protect his hand, trying to get the third player to fold. But if he's un-decent, I can see him calling a lot of times.

I have not been at the table long, but UTG+2 seemed loose and fairly aggressive post flop--capable of betting/raising draws as well as made hands

I guess you need a good read on your opponent to make this assumption.

I guess you're right. My bad, as usual.

But there's also a difference between being aggressive and continue to be aggressive after someone else shows aggression as well. But it sounds as though this player wouldn't fall into that cateogory.
