Hi challenger,
[ QUOTE ] Some people also like taking two seconds to proofread their posts so they don't look like an uneducated morons. [/ QUOTE ] This is a classic half-correction. The correct sentence would read: Some people also like taking two seconds to proofread their posts so they don't look like uneducated morons. "People," "their," "they," "morons." All plural. And no, those weren't complete sentences. And yes, nit-picking grammar is dangerous. To bwana ... why are you in an online grammatical debate again? *shrugs* I dunno. Does your house have no brick walls against which you can bang your head? Cris |

Hi jjnidguy,
[ QUOTE ] Maybe Im just a moron for not realizing this but it came as a suprise to me. [/ QUOTE ] Why would this make you a moron? There's no particular reason you should have suspected that some of the shows were paying people to be audience members. BTW, most of the food you see in TV commercials isn't real food either. For example, when you see someone pouring milk over breakfast cereal, they're actually pouring dilute white glue. As it turns out, real milk appears blue on film. Still want to take everything you see on TV as "truth?" Cris |

From this month's FHM magazine:
Much of the crowd reaction for the TV show is pre taped and inspired by offers of freebies. |

That's pretty cool. Makes sense though, you're right, action in any event every 10-15 mins makes it a little tough to keep an audience awake! How many times have you been watching an afternoon regular season baseball game on TV when they pan to someone in the stands sound asleep! HA!
Bwana - Stop trying to reason with the unreasonable. Challenger - You're clueless, shut up. [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] |

Coming from a Guns n' Roses fan, and a Red Sox fan, those insults don't mean much to me. Next, please.

I live in LA, in fact my friends all call me "Hollywood Johnny" and this is not surprising to me, because most TV Game Show audiences are paid actors.
If you go to Hollywood, you will find people giving away "Free Tickets" to TV tapings, the funny thing is, if you are a local, and know where to look you can get paid to sit and watch those same shows. It sounds like a dream job, but its usually pretty boring - it often takes 3+ hours to shoot a half hour show - I can't imagine how long some of those poker games actually go, considering we only see a fraction of the hands. And the pay isn't that good. It varies from about $6 / hour up to about $10. But, if you are a struggling actor, $10 an hour, and a chance to schmooze with TV production crews is a nice gig. I imagine in Vegas it is harder to find actors, so there are more "real people" in the audience - that is, people who are actually interested in the event.
