All these films are quite deserving. That being said, having to pick one my personal pick for this would probably be Battlefield Earth. I pick this one for a few reasons, beyond the fact it all around sucks:

1) I LOVE Sci-Fi. Usually I enjoy just about anything involving space, robots, lasers etc. INCLUDING the remake of Lost in Space. Yet, Battlefield Earth really hit me as utter crap, inspite of its setting.

2) Any movie that's based on a fairly popular and enjoyable series of books and still manages to suck ass gets bonus points in the crappy department; the makers of the movie didn't even have to create an original story line, and they still manage to screw up adapting the screenplay so badly.

WTF The Core is fantastic. I watch it nearly every time I find it on TV. It's absolutely horrible but in such a way as to make it a great movie.

The truly sad part is how badly Travolta managed to screw up the work of his overlord, L. Ron Hubbard. He should fry before the seat of Xenu, or something.

As a teen, I read every single sci-fi novel I could get my hands on, and finished every single book or series, no matter how bad they were. With the exception of Battlefield Earth. It was, in my opinion then, by far the worst I had ever read.

I haven't touched it in many years, but I always think to myself re: scientology: "If I decided to join a new religion, wouldn't I pick a religion where the creator of the religion & living Messiah was at least GOOD AT HIS CHOSEN PROFESSION?!?!" Assuming Jesus was a carpenter (this is debated), wouldn't you at least figure he was a REALLY GOOD CARPENTER? I know I wouldnt pick as my messiah a guy who made crappy chairs & barrels for a living.

The unfortunate thing about this poll is that so many people will be voting even though they have not seen one of the movies or in some cases either movie.

Nice work putting it together though.

I think we should have a Worst Big Budget Film of All-Time Poll so it will be based on movies most people have seen.

Battlefield Earth is going to win this one in a walk. Manos is technically the worst movie on the list, but the MST3K factor is going to work in its favor and it'll probably get sufficient sympathy non-votes somewhere down the line.

And I can't believe War of the Worlds is even on this list. What are you, retarded?

War of the Worlds (which I have not seen) is on this list because this whole poll originally came from a thread calling it the worst movie ever. I probably wouldn't have included it otherwise.

Agreed. Manos is by far worse than Pearl Harbor, but people who've seen it have laughed heartily at it, whereas they were busy gouging their eyes out at Pearl Harbor.
