Your average party player isnt truly horrible, they do know how to fold 72o and J3o type hands (plenty of bad ones who dont though)
However they are weak, even the rocks are weak. I find some rocks who have a VPIP of about 8% after 80 hands and a PFR of about 2%. These definately arent good players, but you cant really make a lot of money from them. You just have to learn the different types of players and how you can beat them. SSH is a good book but it isnt the bible of party poker, its just a good book for describing how to make a lot of money from loose players. If you want to get better then you will need to read multiple books and do a lot of work. |

[/ QUOTE ] Very true. I wonder, if someone was to use BisonBison's ratings for players, using Poker Tracker, what % of players at each limit would be considered 'good'? I have 18,000 players in my PT, and one day when I am really bored, I will figure it out. Just how many are Tight Agressive-Agressive etc....? |

Yes, Note that to be playing properly you would be playing about 15% of your starting hands. Than note that under the % of people seeing the flop on party poker ranges between double and tripple that figure. Hence atleast 2/3 of the game is to loose and in all probability too passive as well.

I've only been playing a short while, the .02/.04 limit on PokerStars which I've seen other people describe as being somewhat 'tighter' than Party or Pacific.
My PT database has 621 players with 12,109 hands played. Of those, 266 players are winners and 355 are losers. The avg VP$IP is 48.53% and the avg W$SD is 42.53% with the avg BB/100 at -0.95. Happily, I can say I'm doing better than the average at 6.69 BB/100 after 1,745 hands although my VP$IP is still a little high and my aggressive factor way to low. |
