If you are looking for decent sub-$10 wines and you have a Trader Joes around, try the Charles Shaw aka "Two Buck Chuck". Only sold at Trader Joe's, the price is now $2.99. The Shiraz and Cab's are decent for the price. Merlot is crap.
I usually buy them by the case, so I always have some around. My wife doesn't drink red wine, so I will crack open a bottle sometimes when I just feel like a glass or two, then I don't feel guilty if the rest goes to waste. |

I know that there are a bunch of really good NZ whites that are affordable along with being really tasty. Just something to consider for everyone. They do Sauvignon Blanc real well
