My advice to anyone new to multitabling is to start slow. Don't go from 1 game to 4 games overnight. Play two games until your comfortable then try three and so on.

Definitely don't move up too fast, make sure you are comfortable playing at 2 tables before moving to 3 and so on. I made the mistake at first, I tried moving to 4 before I was comfortable with 2. So I moved back down, and now 4 tables is way too slow

Default CRAZY

People playing 8, 12, 32 tables at once!!! Comon!!! How can these people possibly be winning players?? And if you can actually win 2 BB/100 hands playing 3-6 or 5-10.....thats $640 per hour if you play 32 tables!! That's unbeleivable!

There are some players around here who are winners at 8-tabling the 10/20 6-max.

I usually find 6 to be my comfortable max.... and typically will only play 4-5.
but that's also because i prefer to sure 2+2 and/or watch TV while I play.

If I was SOLELY focused on the games I don't think I would have a problem with 8 tables.

It's nice that you think I'm accomplishing some sort if impossible miracle by my abilities to do this...but it's just not as uncommon as you think.

Also...your math is incorrect....
2BB/100 is not the same as winning $20/hr on each of the 32 tables in your hypothetical example.
winning 1BB/hr is more like winning 1.6BB/100 or so (depending on full or 6-max).

I don't think anyone here claims that 32-tabling would be sustainable for extended periods of time.

But 6-8 tables is an entirely different story....and the fact that a lot of 2+2'ers are coming on here and saying "look...I can do it..but I had to get used to it" should make it pretty obvious that it's not as unrealistic as you seem to believe.

6 full games or 4 6max games are the max I can go. I have tried to do more but just end up going mental. Like the rest of the zoo that has ADD, I watch TV, talk on the phone and surf for porn while playing.

I dont think I listened to any of this. I skipped from 1-3 and then soon to 4 very fast. I think the difference was that I played at Pacific for 3 months and couldnt multitable so I knew what I was doing pretty well before I gave it a shot and I never looked back. 4 tabling 6 max threw me off at first though, probably because I didnt have much experience before I started doing though. If you know exaclty what you are doing its that much easier to multitable and you dont have to think as much so get your game down first and then you can 20 table.

As the number of tables goes up, the BB/100 goes down but the $$/hr goes up (often way up).

8 tables at a time with 2 computers is pretty easy. I see all the action with no overlap. I play nl100 and make about 60 bucks an hour over the last 18 months. At the casino I would have to play 30/60 or 40/80 to get the same win rate. The players who think playing 4 tables is crazy, you guys are nuts, start with 2 them work yourself up, it gets easier as you go.

I agree with the general consensus in this thread. 4 tables is definitely doable, and i have been 4 tabling 5/10 6-max for months now. VERY rarely does the time box even come up when i play. I know how i want to act, and i act. I agree that the "newbies" are the ones who slow the games down. They sit there and stare at their one table for 20 seconds and try to decide what to do. I am friends with a guy who 8-tables 10-20 (6-max) and he makes a killing. If you have the right equipment (2-21" monitors) it is very reasonable, as long as you work your way up to it. Invest in a 21" monitor, and work your way up to 4 tables, it will be profitable for you.
