I'd like it better if 1 team wasn't an undeserving wildcard team.

[/ QUOTE ]

bitching about the wildcard is so 1995.

Yeah, great for baseball is probably the wrong sentiment. Great for me as a fan. And it should be for all true fans.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm a crappy, crappy fan. I not only don't want Houston or their fans to be happy, I really, really want Bagewll and Biggio to retire without a World Championship. And I want the true Sox fans to enjoy, because that has been a miserable franchise to root for up there.

[/ QUOTE ]

Any chance White Sox fans are as miserable to deal with next year as BoSox fans were this year? I would HATE to be a Cub fan in Chitown if this happens...

A team that hasn't won the World Series since 1917 and a team that has never been to it in 44 years of existence. How can you not feel good for the fans of both teams?

[/ QUOTE ]

...realizing of course that neither team has many real fans.

The White Sox fan base has pretty much always been miserable. I should know, as I'm one of them. We've been more or less miserable based on spite, envy, and self-loathing though. I can't see White Sox fans becoming pretentious.

I did too, but really there aren't that many. Houston is just not really a baseball town. There aren't that many die-hard Astros fans, not relative to some other teams.

I'm a lifelong White Sox fan. I know Sox fans are a small group, but I can't tell you how little I care about that. I'll tell you, there seems to be a lot more Sox fans now that there were earlier in the year.

Yankee fans hated dealing with Red Sox fans this year b/c you could no longer kick us around. it's not that we became miserable, its that you had to put up with the same stuff that you've been dishing out for 80 years.

Sorry, but you lost your punching bag.

I have to agree and since I am a Twins fan I am supposed to hate the White Sox, but I can't.

Th real question is whether the Cards of 00's are going to be like the Braves of the 90's.
