Personally, I can't stand politically motivated lyrics. I don't listen to music to become enlightened about political issues. I can read a newspaper or watch tv if I want to do that. That doesn't mean I can't like other parts of the song that incorporates that lyrical content.

But some people dig it.

Edit: Reminds me of when I was jamming with an old band. After a few tunes they asked what I thought of the stuff. I said, "the music was good, melody...

But the lyrics sounded like a bunch of married guys who haven't been laid or had any fun in awhile."
