Re: Great albums and skippers.
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] This is a pretty good post that will be a good thread if it doesn't degenerate into which Radiohead song/album is the coolest/sucks the most. The Beatles: White Album -- Wild Honey Pie, Don't Pass Me By, Julia Talking Heads: Remain in Light --Listening Wind and The Overload I'll probably post again with more once I think of some. [/ QUOTE ] You beat me to the punch with the White Album, but you totally blew it with the selections. Easily the biggest Skipper of all time, without a close second, is Revolution 9. "number 9, number 9, number 9....". It's so bad I don't think I listened to the last track, Good Night, but a few times of the hundreds I've listened to the album. BTW, this is probably my top collectable album, since its the white vinyl edition. Nice. [/ QUOTE ] I love both Julia and Listening Wind, and have listened to them countless times. I wouldn't mind listening to them countless times again. Julia is even better if you have read even a little about Lennon's family problems, which would be pretty typical for someone who listens to The White Album. It's his love song to the mom he in a way felt he never had, the mom who sent him away as a child. Pretty moving stuff, plenty of love and primal sadness. |

Re: Great albums and skippers.
[ QUOTE ]
I guess my entry would be Fleetwood Mac's Rumors. Great all the way through except for Oh Daddy. I never liked it. The only low point on the disc IMO. [/ QUOTE ] Eh. I love this album, but I can't quite give it 'great' status. Part of the reason is that, to me, the skippers on this album are 2 of the most famous tracks: "Don't Stop" and "Go Your Own Way". Tracks like "Dreams", "Never Going Back Again", and "You Make Loving Fun" make the whole thing worthwhile. Also, I prefer the self-titled album to Rumours. I don't think I could find a skipper on there. |

The Beatles were famous as being a band where you skipped the A side to get to the B side. McCartney dominated the A side with his happier, lovey stuff, and things got both weirder abd more relevant when you flipped over to the B side to hear the Lennon side, where the real meat was. [/ QUOTE ] Word. On a side note, i just started listening to the album Revolver again. Great album. Great. |

Re: Great albums and skippers.
Sarah McLachlan's Surfacing - all good except for Witness, which is meh at best.
Jeff Buckley's Grace, which was my favorite album - starts on #2 for me...Mojo Pin is just a little too weird, even for Buckley. That godawful song that Duff sings on G'N'R's Use Your Illusion II... Finally...Dishwalla's Opaline is smooth as silk except for the brick on track 7..."Today, Tonight." |

Deloused in the Comatorium, Tira Me a Las Aranas.
Rest of the album is pure genius. |

Re: Great albums and skippers.
Wow, I love Mojo Pin. Grace is definitely a no-skipper for me.
As for Use Your Illusion II, there are a few skippers, but it's not a 'great' album, so it doesn't count. Appetite for Destruction is a great album, but has no skippers. |

Re: Great albums and skippers.
I haven't seen this fairly obvious one mentioned yet, so I'll do it:
Led Zeppelin II: Moby Dick. Live, incredible. On the record, SKIP! |
