[ QUOTE ] With the bus there and back from Toronto, it takes about 3 hours each way [/ QUOTE ] Does this bus stop 20 times on the way? 3 hours? I drive there in 50 minutes! [/ QUOTE ] It is the bus total. Getting myself the bus stop takes about 25 minutes. Then usually 2-3 stops before we are actually on the highway, an hour and half on the highway, actually 2 1/2 hours is probaby more accurate. But still it is super slow, and I don't think the busses run early in the morning so if I do take the bus, I arrive later and have to go on the waiting list which is probably another 2 hours. |

I'm 21 and I normally play a 10-12 hour session with no problem. I would imagine I could play as much as 18 while still playing good poker. -Yarney [/ QUOTE ] Ya I would think the same. at least 18 hours. We will find out in the summer though. |

My longest session w/o a break is around 18 hours which I did a couple times a week two winters ago. My local cardroom closed for six hours a day so I had to quit or I probably would have played longer if I could have.
Last December I took a trip to Las Vegas and played 5 days with no more than a two to three hour nap each day. Then I slept for fifteen hours the night before I had to drive home ~1250 miles. I only played low limit games like 4-8 limit, 1-2 NL at the Golden Nugget and 2-4 limit at Binions. I don't know if I played my best game the whole time but I made about $700 and paid for my trip. I would do it again too. |

On a good nights rest i finished off my last vegas trip with a 30 hour session. I wanted to play till my flight and couldnt fit in some sleep. Started at 2-5NL and moved to 10-20. Towards the end i was a bit delerious but it was definitely +EV. My best guess is somewhere around 48 hr session if you get real hopped up on diet cokes/coffee and hot chocolate. A good player/friend tried to put a move on me at the 10-20. I raised UTG w/ KK, he 3 bet me in the BB, i 4 bet, he called, flop Axx, check check, turn pairs the middle card and puts 3 clubs on board, he bets, i raise, he 3 bets and i call him down on the turn and river to see 9 high. "How did you call me down"-him "Im too tired to consider folding kings"-me. Good luck and dont listen to all these sissies that say the game will be there when you get back...how do they know for sure? -JMP [/ QUOTE ] i really hope this is an arguement for not playing to 30 hours |

Hotel rooms very +EV. There was a great thread about how long players can last in the theory section a while ago I think, try searching for that. [/ QUOTE ] I checked on hotels up at rama, and they are 220 a night. None of my friends are big enough players to want to stay overnight, usually they are ready to go after 6 hours. Seeing as all my income in the summer will be poker, and I want to make as much as most college kids would for the summer in the month and a half I can play, hotels are a no go. |

You're going to go to Rama once or twice a week for six weeks and you're hoping to make a college kid's summer salary?
What limits are you going to play at Rama? What kind of bankroll are you starting with? I would say 12-hour sessions is a good safe number, but I'm curious how you plan to be a semi-pro player who only works one day a week. |

[/ QUOTE ] I plan on playing 20-40, with a 12,000 canadian bankroll (including online). On top of going to Rama I am also going to play about 10,000 5-10 6max (5 tabling) a week as well. When I am at home I should be able to set up my computer with 2 17 inch screens, so I may make it 6 tables of 5-10 short, or after 3-4 weeks if I am successful I may move up to 10-20 depending on the circumstances |

I lasted 13 hours straight at Excalibur a few months back, when I got home, I was amazed I lasted that long, must of been the shades.
Being 20, 30 hours should be easy, LOL! Seriously though, I'd play in 3-4 hour increments with a nice break in between, definitely eat a ton before you leave, so you're NOT GROGGY when you start, and NOT HUNGRY for a long while. Keep caffiene/suger to a minimum for first 2 stretches. That's how I do it anyhow, after first 7-8 hours, one every 2 hours about it, until my food break after session 3.... Maybe take a few granola bars to snack on at the table to tide you over. When I was 21, 7 card stud was pretty much the only game, and first time I ever played in a casino, I played 11 hours straight with no problem, only went to the can once, rest of time I was playing. Unfortunately, it was one of those passing through trips, I barely saw ANY of the rest of the place, we didn't even stay overnite. >TW< |

In my earliest and dumbest days of playing poker, I played a 24 hour 3/6 session at Mohegan Sun. I don't recommend it. These days I don't play longer than 8 hours at a stretch and it's usually shorter than that. scrub [/ QUOTE ] In my earliest and dumbest days of playing poker, I played a 33-hour 3/6 session at Borgata. I don't recommend it. These days I don't play longer than 12 hours at a stretch and it's usually shorter than that (8-9 hours). Box |

It's all about what your body is used to. If you are used to going to sleep everynight at same time, you won't make it much later than that time.
I can play some insane sessions, but I've "trained" myself to stay up long periods of time. Longest session I played was 32 hours. This is horrible for yourself though, very hard on the body. |
