if you lose with a given hand 10% of the time, the chance you lose the next two times you're dealt that hand in a row is a 0.1^2, or 0.01, or 1%, 1/100. for the next three in a row, is 1/1000.
ten in a row is 1 of 10,000,000,000 but aces lose more often than 10% - let's say 30% of the time. for this more realistic number, ten in a row is 1 of ~170,000. thirty in a row is 1 of ~4,860,000,000,000,000 key point: victor was not saying that he lost 30 pocket aces in a row. he said he was a loser with them for over 30 hands. |

If I had the ability to delete the most recent three posts in this thread, I really would. You people make me sick! [/ QUOTE ] Hi Clayton, I certainly didn't wish to upset anyone with what I thought were some interesting statistics, but since you are the OP of this thread, I will honor your wishes. I was able to delete the last post so I did. My other post was beyond the time limit that would allow me to delete it. If a moderator wants to delete it, I give my permission to do so. I hope that people don't make you sick in the future. |
