even if the LP raise makes some of the limpers re-think their limp

[/ QUOTE ]

You've obviously never played live poker...if these guys have one bet invested, theres no way in hell theyre folding for one or even two more.

[ QUOTE ]
I'd really like to have more than one way to win, or my one draw to be to the near-nuts

[/ QUOTE ]

You can flop two pair, trips, etc in addition to your frush...And are you really afraid of a higher flush? Does it really matter with all the dead money provided by the monkey-limpers? Its very improbable that you'll run into a bigger frush, and you know that

AH-HAH! That was exactly my point about questioning why he limped instead of raising! I LOVE BEING RIGHT.

[/ QUOTE ]

"Oh no, a 'good' post flop player just limped in a live 4/8 game...hes obviously waiting for the passive button to raise, allowing him to C/R and trap the entire field for two bets"

[/ QUOTE ]

Oh, seriously, come on. My read is that a good postflop player is more likely to not raise a middle-strength hand at a loose-passive table preflop, leaving himself being checked to in a bloated pot on the flop. A very strong or fairly weak hand, otoh, he's more likely to raise because in the case of the monster hand he wants the pot bloated and with a weaker hand he wants the flop checked to him. Yeesh.

Ok, can't we at least keep this civil?

This is actually an incredibly stupid argument, given frequency of the situation occurring. I'm guessing that if somebody wanted to throw some math at it, it's probably pretty close to even between calling and folding. Preflop is gay.

And, besides, all the OP really wanted was to show us his flopped boat. Nice hand.
