Is it just me, or do more and more crybabies join this site everyday?

Seriously, Dyessman, when a post contains a personal dig directed at me, I will be a dick to make a point. Or if the post is absolutely horrible from a strategy standpoint. Chamonyx's post fit both these criteria.

In general, if you or anyone else has a problem with my posting style, put me on an ignore list. I don't care if I offend you (at all), and I won't change.

I dont mind you being hard on someone, I dont mind you being blunt. But your last 5 replies to this thread have all been rude and useless --- it gets quite annoying. You fill every thread with **** that makes you look like a jack***. I dont know if you were beat up too much in highschool, but something is obviously wrong.

Im not the only one who feels this way, Im just the only one with balls to say it.

Hey...some of us respond better to the Bobby Knight coaching style, some to Dr. Phil. I like it when Ribbo bit&^ slaps me back to reality when my thought pattern is off.

As long as its constructive, Im all for it. But alot of the time its not. Giving a statement like ...

"Did you really just write that? Tell me you're not that stupid.

Go spend some time at 2dimes studying hand values, you obviously do not understand fundamental probabilies of poker."

really doesnt help matters.

On the face of it, it is a great hand against a wide range of playable hands - but do you still feel as good about it when someone plays it right back at you?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, absolutely no question.

What is your equity against hands that are strong enough to pot it back?

[/ QUOTE ]

Given that there is a bunch of money in the pot already, you only need to have somewhere around 42% pot equity to make getting your chips in correct (you could actually calculate this based on $ in the pot, and how much left in your stacks).

Then I would run some typical shoving hands that an opponent might have here. The thought process and calculation go something like what I did at my site www.o8poker.com under hand examples, PLO8 hand example 7 if you want to see exactly how I’d go about the decision process and calculations.

Why not slow down till the turn when you can then give him the chance to make an incorect call if you hit?

[/ QUOTE ]
If you don't see why this is exactly wrong, don't play PLO8 until you do.

[/ QUOTE ]

Ribbo, is that you?

Wintermute and Ribbo have an excellent understanding of PLO8, and give nop-notch advice that will improve your game immensely. In fact, I’d say they are the 2nd and 3rd best PLO8 posters here

It all comes down to why you read/post at these forums – personally, I am here to learn to play better poker and don’t mind putting up with abuse or trolling behavior to get better. Let them have their fun if it makes them happy.

I'm not sure which made me laugh harder, the psyschic prediction, or the appearance of the baby. (Who by the way needs a name I think).

Its weird how different people think this hand is an easy choice, but have different outlooks on it. So, the hand the player flipped over was ... J4xx ... with the xx of little value. You were fortunate, but still were only a 52% edge. Although Im still leaning toward a raise being correct.
