Go all in. if you're not going to push with AA then when will you? You have the best hand, regardless of who else is in the tourney and thus are the favorite to win that hand at that point and quadruple up.

Annie Duke has folded pocket Aces with 11 left and 10 got seats to WSOP. Two were all in before her. She knew one would be out so she folded. In tournament play like this it was a wise move

sorry, but i lost my patience with the thread, and so didn't read it all.

calling here with AA is good in just about any situation, b/c you are a good sized favorite to win a huge pot. this is reflected in the numbers, no matter how you compute them.

but more importantly is that you're up against 9 pros. in this case you want dream of getting into coinflips. after all, the pros are likely to kill you, right? so you're looking for chances to get lucky. if you have AA, and several people go all in in front of you, doesn't that count as getting lucky? don't you want to get all your money in with AA preflop?

if you don't recognize the answer as yes, you aren't ready for poker.

the answer is call. other answers are wrong. if you fold here, you're in for a long night of the pros chopping away at you. then you can pretend like you played well, when you bust out in 6th.

Against 4 random generated hands, your winning percentage with AA is 55.9%, but you only need it to be 20.1% to make money in the long run. You will get drawn out on almost 50% of the time though, so be aware.

Wouldn't it be 25.1% to profit? Anyways, I see this logic in a cash game but not for a tournament. As its always possible you don't even place. I'd call against pros without a doubt as this is probably your best chance to get action without being able to get outplayed. If I were up against a bunch of fish, only then would I consider the laydown as there is too much of a risk to get knocked out here. Add to the fact that the pros are all-in with hands like AK, KK, QQ that AA holds up best against. The worse the players, the worse the cards, the better the chances of getting cracked.

TPFAP addresses this exact issue... when is it good to fold AA. Your example is right on. However, I'm not sure that the OP is thinking of these situations.

The only time I think it is right to fold AA. Let’s say you have 4 short stacks and you guys are one from the money. Two short stacks and one player with a bigger stack then yours moves in too. Why risk being busted out when you still have 2 shorter stacks that are more then likely to bust out before you. That is the ONLY TIME TO FOLD AA.

Ok in that spot you're obviously right, let one of them bust so you hit the money. I think I assumed an equal stack type of situation. I like the point another poster made about it being pros too. You're likely to be up against other big pairs or dominated aces, which I think makes the call even more obvious.

I would argue it's pretty obvious against amateurs as well.
