I suppose you could take this article a number of ways.
1. The U.S. used the device 2. They claim it was used to illuminate battlefields at night 3. Civilians could have easily been harmed by it 4. The U.S. never signed a treaty banning this 5. It is an incendeary device Seems like civi's were caught in the middle once again |

And here is the TV program that is being aired tonight on Italian TV, or so am I told. It's 45 MB large and about 28 minutes long, in english and not for the faint of heart I'm told. I have not seen it yet so I don't know anything about it. http://www.rainews24.rai.it/ran24/in...llujah_ING.wmv [/ QUOTE ] download here |

When I was in the Army we used Willy Pete (White Phosphorous). I don't think you know what you’re talking about. We weren't suppose to use it as an anti-personnel weapon but we could use it to mark a target (e.i. Planes drop you bombs here). If a crew was TOO accurate in marking their target, then the enemy trapped in Will Pete Cloud would be BBQ (think Napalm in a white cloud). [/ QUOTE ] This is the correct explanation and canis and any who agree with him are full of crap if they can't prove it was intentionally used as an anti-personnel device. I've seen WP used on the firing range and in exercises many times and would hate to be hit with it. But how much better off are you going to be if you are "only" hit with a 105 shell in the open or in a tank by a flachette round? If you call this a chemical weapon then you would also call a flare gun shell one as well. If you want to criicize our reasons for being in Iraq that is fine, but using these types of arguements is moronic. |

Some Norwegian website (sometimes right, sometimes wrong) now claims that the Americans used the same chemical as Saddam Hussain used against the Kurds. Anyone has any more info on this?

[/ QUOTE ] I did not remember when posting what kind of chemical weapons Saddam used, so I requested more info. Had not made up my mind (as I wrote it was not a 100% credible page). |
