Gillete isn't related to the actual Gillete razor's is he?

Who is Ronald Coase, never heard of him.

[/ QUOTE ]

Penn Gillete of Penn and Teller is an incredibly funny and honest person who doesn't take crap and says what he thinks. THis of course is why he could never hold any political office, not that he'd want to of course, although he'd be my number one choice too I think. Ronald Coase is a famous economist who came up with among other things the Coase Theorem which is a way of efficiently dealing with externalities by assigning property rights (unfortunatly it doesn't work as it makes huge unreasonable assumptions such as zero bargaining costs but it's a nice idea).

[ QUOTE ]
My gut tells me George Allen will be the next president. My gut is usually right. It is rare that it would not be a Governor or a Vice President, that has been the trend. Of course, Allen is a former governor.

[/ QUOTE ]

I met George Allen a couple of months ago. He came to my company's office to see they type of IT work that we provide for various government agencies and departments. He was a very nice guy. What struck me about him was the fact that he didn't seem to hold anything back and pretty much said it like it is the entire time he was here. I was very impressed. He has my vote if he runs.

[ QUOTE ]

The inaccuracies from the GOP are minor compared to the major "redefinition of the truth" campaign waged by Democrats and their media allies.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is compared to the push polling Bush's campaign workers did in 2000. Or the wonderful ability to take short blips out of context and use them in attacks in 2004.

Inaccuracies are minor???

Hardly, just look at GWB's positions in 2000 campaign and the reality of his work since 2000.

I leave you this minor task of introspection.

You already may know my views on the "We are better than the next nut-job" defence.

I seem to remember in 2000 W was saying he wanted to cut taxes and appoint strict constructionist judges. I think he has kept his word, an honest politician.

So when you run on national security and false attacks against your opponents character, and then declare after victory that you now have a mandate to destroy the middle class in this country through the phase out of SS, tax cuts for the wealthy, and a complete destruction of consumer and environmental protections, that's honest politics? I think he might be the most evil man who ever lived who really doesn't think he's doing anything wrong... Cut down the shrub!!
