Thanks for the advice guys. I tend to fall in love with the "check the turn, call a river bet" play. I really felt I pressed call on the river without thinking about what his bet size could have meant.

The thing I don't like about a turn bet is that he can fold hands I beat and reraise me with hands that crush me. If I check the turn, he will potentially bluff/bet a weak hand or check to me and allow me to bet and possibly get a call out of a weak king/mid pair.

A free card isn't really scary on this board. The flop check is not a line I'd ever really considered but it's an interesting choice.

Anyways, I think I could have folded the river given his overbet.. he showed 44.
