not raising 88 6 handed?
and what the hell is [ QUOTE ] I would put toro on overcards here, making it a fold for me. [/ QUOTE ] ?? --- Also, why would you make a play like this more often later in an MTT, when your buyin is worth substantially more? the later on in a tournament, and the less variance i'll look for. |

with just a naked straight draw i'd probably flat call his flop bet and hope to make up for the poor odds on the flop by extracting on the turn (when I hit). [/ QUOTE ] Fine, but [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] This was not a naked straight draw. It was a straight draw plus two overcards. Just as a flush draw plaus two overcards is a lot stronger than just a flush draw, the overcards greatly increase the value of the straight draw. [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Check-raising may still be a better play than check-calling even without the overcards. In fact, in many games, check-raising with air is profitable. Having a few outs adds a lot of value to the folding equity. |

if I put him on KK+ im about 35% equity, 1.75 to 1 isnt quite enough, so I fold. I wasnt at the table so im sure there were other factors, dont get all defensive bro.

if I put him on KK+ im about 35% equity, [/ QUOTE ] No, if he actually has KK or AA, then you have 35% equity or less. Apparently, what you put him on may have no relation to the actual range of hands with which he will raise 3 off the button, then bet the flop. Six-handed, there is no early position, so throw out your ideas of an UTG raise. |

hey, at least you had a good hand, I got caught on a bluff reraise when exit held 10's, and I almost hit the fold button too. Short handed and short stacked, figured he could just be making a play at my blind.
