Only push preflop if you are pretty sure you will be called. Push the flop.

If I know this player is at all good, I fold the flop.

Does he really lead into you with 88/99 with two overcards? What about AK after he reraises and you call?

The only hand I can concieve of you being aheand of here is AJ, do you think the is the type of person to reraise preflop with AJ?

All of that said, I push preflop.

Well any read obviously changes everything. If I have played him before and he seems solid, I fold. But early in a 11 I automatically assume my opponent is an idiot. I think you will see AT-AK here too often to fold.

- 20 % of the time it’s a continuation bet - i.e. he has nothing and is trying to take a stab at the pot
- 50% of the time he has something but not enough to beat your hand i.e. AJ – top pair with a good kicker
- 30% of the time he has you beaten i.e. he had you beaten from the start or he’s made trips on his JJ/TT

[/ QUOTE ]

Where are you getting these numbers from?

Just a rough estimate from experience. Why? Do you think they are off?

Think about what he could have! He's reraising you preflop. On the assumption he is not a complete donkey, he has 77+/AQ+. Sometimes he has AJ, I'll come back to that.

Ok, now the flop is JTx and he's leading into you. So basically he's got AK and thinks you will fold? Or he has JJJ/TTT/AA/KK, the other queens....

A solid player that doesn't c-bet in bad situations has QQ beat here 100% of the time.

Of course, if you think he would bet 33% of his remaining stack with AK or he would reraise preflop with AJ then you can consider continuing. At a 10+1 I could see that... now that I think about this more at a 10+1 I probably would stick my stack in anyway because there are so many donkeys out there he might have AT or some garbage. But I hate my hand when I do it.
