Re: \"All-in\"...then walk away from the table?!?
[ QUOTE ]
As to the question, my thought is that leaving the table is poor etiquette. But then I also think that it is poor etiquette to jump up and down, scream, yell at the dealer to give or not give a certain card, high-five 47 different people when you hit the river, bitch about donkeys drawing out on you, etc., etc. [/ QUOTE ] Good point, there are more important etiquette issues out there. |

Re: \"All-in\"...then walk away from the table?!?
then she's lying. you can't implement tells properly all the time without odds. I recall Sklansky saying something similar to Negraneau, who made a similar claim as you said Harman did.

then she's lying. [/ QUOTE ] That's one reason she is a winning player. Lying is an integral part of the game. |

Re: \"All-in\"...then walk away from the table?!?
I do remember seeing that at the 1998 ME, and that Scotty did end up making the wrong call and losing the hand. I think that it is a tell that the person is strong...remember how pretending not to be interested in a hand is a tell? Obviously walking away says that you're really not interested. So the guy's not worried about losing all his chips.

Re: \"All-in\"...then walk away from the table?!?
I don't see this hurting poker as long as it doesn't get out of control. Poker is still growing and I think more rules along these lines will come eventually, but it'd be pretty silly to be penalized 10 minutes for standing up during a hand.
At least they cut out smoking in many places, that pleases me the most and was a much bigger problem than this IMO. Boo smoking, yay beer...and poker! JMB |
