i dont think A-rag caps preflop often enough to consider here.

edit - i'm not saying its not possible, just not that likely.

Is there any merit to 3-betting the flop, or is that a bad idea? If bad, why?

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't think it's a bad idea. The pitfall of 3-betting if that if capped you are pretty much forced to call down on the turn and river and be shown AA or AK almost every time. Also, if villain capped pre-flop w/ KK or QQ, we want him to keep betting.

besides, even if you're wrong, and you GET check/raised... you're setting yourself up for that elusive trifecta on the river... and while it's much cooler to trifecta your opponent... there's at least a little glory to be found in getting pwned like that, no?

[/ QUOTE ]

I have no idea what tirfecta means. 3 check-raises?

his play kind of looks like KK or QQ no?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, I agree, this is exactly what I was thinking. I'll be honest, I really don't know how to play this hand, and maybe thats bad. Anyways, my thoughts are that if villian is solid we're either comfortably ahead, or way behind here. He could have AA, AK, or JJ and we're in big trouble, or maybe he's got QQ or KK.

Being in position should make this easier to play, but for some reason if I were out of position I would feel better with check-call, check-call, bet line. If this guy is solid, he's kind of risking a lot by checking the turn just to try to get in extra bets. I think his turn check is either two things, a show of weaknes with KK or QQ since you called his flop c/r, and he's going to call down. Or, its that he has a big hand and is trying to c/r again, but I think this is much less likely.

I think I'd bet the turn, I wan't this guy to have to pay to show down KK or QQ. Would anyone be capable of folding to a turn c/r here if there was a good read on villian being solid?

if we get checkraised twice in a row on the flop and turn, I doubt anyone here would bet the river unimproved if villain checked to us.

Thanks for the input

I guess I realize why my aggresssion #'s are just under 2. I thought the 10 was a bad card for me on the turn. It puts me behind 2 more hands KQ and A-10 that would very likely be raising from the CO.
