I watched a lot of the Euro Sport channel in Europe. In Austria, the German-speaking announcers were very polite. Commentating on a tennis match, they would whisper until the player started to serve, then they would remain silent until the point was over. In France, the French-speaking announcers would blather constantly, apparently talking about previous points and (as best I could understand) totally unrelated things.
