I know I would just get an extra seat, but it would also include $1K and better hotel room, so I will play anyway.

I think this has some real potential if you bumped up the buyin a bit as is, but still looks amazing.

Stars deal is really superior to party's.

We talked about this in the WPT forum some too.

Party has worse rake on their qualifiers.
It's a 300+28 as opposed to Stars 615+35's for example.

And...the hotel cost is taken out of the prize-pool at party.
So I think it's a $13.5k package that you are trying to win.

On stars...not only is the rake better...but the hotel accomodations are NOT taken out of the prize-pool.
So it's like an overlay of sorts.

You win an $11k package...$10k seat + $1k cash.
And you also get 9 nights of hotel stay COMPED by Stars. That's over $1k in value (if you want to cover your own hotel accomodations they'll give you the $1k in cash instead).
This is in agreement for wearing their stuff.

On Party, they tell you that you have to wear their stuff anyway.

Greg Raymer himself said he couldn't believe that party was including the cost of the hotel-stay IN the total-prize that you win.

He admitted that he is obviously going to be partial to Stars though.

I, OTOH, have no specific reason to be loyal to either group...I'm just able to observe that Stars is obviously the better deal.

Party - worse rake. To win a $13.5k package that is worth about $13k (since it appears the hotel fees that they are covering are a bit exaggerated)

Stars - better rake. $11k out of the prize-pool gets you a package worth closer to $12k (or more actually since 9 nights at the Treasure Island hotel is worth a bit more than $1k).

Of course, it could still be worth it to play at party if you think the tourney competition is significantly worse there.
I like the stars structure better in spite of slightly tougher competition.

Anyway...just some things to consider.
