With all due respect to the MRS, some advice I pass along...

Just so I understand: You are asking us (who answered your post with a reply) who have collectively posted a total of 4694* posts to mostly, I assume, complete strangers - whether or not your wife is mental?

*Including your 805 posts and me who took the time to look 'em all up and total them.

Yes, it makes every bit as much sense as cutting the dog's hair then buying a sweater so he doesn't get cold.

Maybe I should have added another option, "Steamboatin is just as mental as his MRS."

Yes, I think you should have added that option. But that still wouldn't take care of the problem that you are asking us(I am as guilty as some others of mindless banter.) Enjoy the holidays and a bit of unsolicited advice - get the dog something for <font color="red">Xmas.<font color="green">.

Because you're not the master of her domain.

I ask, she looks at me like I am an idiot and doesn't answer.

Then I'm gonna guess that:

A) she likes the way the dog looks with a haircut
B) she likes the way the dog looks in the sweater
and
C) the trimmed dog needs a sweater to keep warm

so it's a win-win from her perspective, and it's not a lot of money, so if it makes her happy it seems pretty straightforward to me.
