Move up [/ QUOTE ] I should have. A long time ago. But... at this point, I plan to 8 table mindless poker at 2/4 until I go back to school. And then, with A) A bigger bankroll B) More spending money I will probably 1-2 table and move up not when my bankroll says so, but when I feel I am ready (which could be pretty quickly). Anyone have any thoughts on this idea? |

Re: Open Challenge May: Week 3 report
From the sounds of it, I'm willing to bet you have way over 1000 BB for 2/4, and if you're playing that many hands, I doubt there's much left to gain in terms of learning at that level. I would move up to 3/6, play at least 10k hands or so until you're comfortable then move up again until you get to a point where you can play comfortably at a level with 500 BB's or so.
What I've been doin is moving up whenever I've had 300 BB's for a higher level and planning to move down if I get down to 200. I bonus whored my way all the way through 3/6, then at 3k I played some 5/10(6m), had a great run for 4000 over 10k hands, moved up with 7k at 10/20(6m). I played 10/20 till I had 9k, then tried the 15/30 game, I did fine but I just didn't like ring games after playing so much 6 max, so I grinded the 10/20 just until recently when they opened the 30/60 tables, and I figued I'd take a crack at it (I probably shouldn't have, only have about 4k hands at 15/30). Anyways, now I'm playing 30/60 and praying I don't bust haha. And in conclusion to a post that was drawn out longer than it should've been, I think you should move up. |

Re: Open Challenge May: Week 3 report
wow. Were you playing professionally at any point during this excersize? I am being help back at 3/6 primarily because i a) never was really dedicated to getting the number of hands in that i should have been doing all along, and more pertinent b)have gotten scared of every 100BB swing ive had at 5/10 with a 300BB roll. So, now im going to be moving up sometime in june with 700BBs, and will stay there come hell or high water. Just curious how you need for cash impacted your decision to move up.
Also, i have something like 45K hands now. Depending on what madtown has,(if, for example he would have had a chance if i hadnt dont the adhoc thing) i will probably just give myself 3K for each of the two days, so that we still have a sporting competition going on. oh, and tbag, thanks again for stopping by my table today. Hows the 30/60 been so far? peace john nickle |
