Re: Lucky Eagle-Eagle Pass, TX
[ QUOTE ]
I think you are in better luck driving to the Oklahoma casinos than going there. Good luck. [/ QUOTE ] I haven't played in Louisiana or Oklahoma, but I thought the room at Eagle Pass wasn't half bad. The old building is now the bingo hall, and the casino is housed in a large building that towers over what used to be where you would play cards. The comments "it's like playing poker in a tent" are no longer applicable. The rake was a killer ($3 + $1 jackpot @ $3/$6 and $5/$10 on every flop regardless of pot size), but the room was well run and clean (no smoking), the food was decent, the soft drinks and coffee were free if you helped yourself, and the chairs were quite comfortable. The bad beat jackpot made for plenty loose tables at the $3/$6 game, and the game on Friday and Saturday night was really soft. Afternoons were tougher, with more regulars and less gamblers. If I go again, I'll definitely bring a bankroll for $5/$10 so the rake is more beatable. Just for reference, what is rake at some of the Louisiana and Oklahoma rooms? |

[/ QUOTE ] Depends on where you play but, in Lake Charles and Kinder the rake is 3 + 1 on white chip games and 4 + 1 on red chip games. The good thing is the players are so bad the rake really doesn't matter. |
