Would you have called if he had pushed? I would normally bet the flop anyway since the A is scary to him too, but I can see checking with the intention of raising/calling anything to get some extra value.

I probably would call if he pushed yea....Once I raise to 300 there and the pot is 600, its very unlikely Im folding postflop when my opponent has only 900 behind.
Betting the flop might be superior, as the pot is big and allowing a miracle card is disastrous. For instance fi I had 600 and the pot was 900, Id move allin every time. I felt that in this case it was reasonable to check though. |
