thanks. Didnt quite come off how I wanted it...supposed to be Sklansky/Malmuth popping up subliminally advertising their books. Working on one, where they box each other...with Ed Miller as the referee.

Not to brag or anything, but I play for a living and I mostly play at Absolute. Rock is not equivalent to good player. Some of these rocks are so easy to read that it makes them easy to beat, first I started raising with crap and now I have actually taken the mental step that I have started 3-betting with crap. Even if I know their hand is better than my their preflop and postflop predictability gives me a winning edge.

And the fun part is all their berating of how I don't know how to play (for not following their "rules"), how I am the big fish and they will get all my money etc. One guy folded his BB to my preflop raise 6 times in a row, then telling me in chat that he would win the big pots since he would be in with the best hand while I would only get the small ones. At the 7th time he 3-betted my steal, and I folded to his flop bet, then I continued stealing his blind. Wonder how +EV that rock strategy is .

No offense or anything, but usually when people start with "not to" they mean just the opposite

Maybe it came off that way, but my intention was to point out that your opponents do not need to be loose to make money in poker (seems to be the hardest myth to kill). An attempt to open the eyes of those who complain about games/sites tightening up.

I can only see this working well at 10/20 or higher as the rake has less relavancy. If you pay 5 percent rake on tiny pots. Playing in a rock garden is awful.....

No flop no drop, and small pots which weak-tightness often results in gives each player an equivalent of 10c in bonus, so the real rake in these weak tight games is really low on a per hand basis.

This is why I have continued to play there - it's good to learn to beat the weak-tighties.

And as I say, if you've got the roll and nads for 6-max, it seems to be a different world.

This is why hardly anyone plays there and those who do play there brag about how great it is...to get fools to come play! That's what I hear anyway...full ring games anyway.
