Yet, it's still conceivable he would fold A2 to the all-in right? I didnt say it was likely, just possible. Certainly A2 would be more likely to get stacked if you min raise, and then push the river, no?

So there is a situation where the min-raise push line is better. Where do you think the turn push line is better? I have a really hard time imagining the villain is on a straight or flush draw here.

i'd push here, he's shortstacked and likely to make this move with a weaker ace.

I am really confused as to why a basic call is not an option here. You don't really want to fold this pot but do you really have to lose your entire stack here to not appear weak? Call, find out what he has -- take a decent pot.

After a discussion with him it turned out that he had pocket nines... He first told me he had AK, but then after some talking he said he had the nines, and that he thought that I had AK and that he didnt want me to catch the king, and if I call and not catch it I would be commited to the pot so he could easy go allin and I would call...
But who knows...

I'm not sure which is worse, you believing him or you folding the winner. Seriously though, if you find yourself in this instance again, call. An overwhelming majority of the time you will win this pot making this call +EV.

Talk about hitting the nail on the head...

That guy was so full of s***, you can't honestly believe what he says about him knowing you had AK. Did he say that after you told him you had AK???

Thanks for all the answers (also the throw up comment, really helpful )

Lets put it this way, if this hand was on tv and all the viewers and commentators could see the hands, and the other guy actually had pocket nines, then everyone would go WOW thats a big laydown, right? i hope u agree on that orelse i dont know what.
If i think he has pocket nines how often can i lay my hand down?
i mean if it was a live game and i have alot of tells on him and i think he has it...
if im right 90% of the time can i lay my hand down for +EV?
or 80%
70% and so on...
