[ QUOTE ] The "Little Wing" intro. [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] This was my #2. I've ben on a Hendrix binge the last couple of days. I like the "Are You Experienced" intro better b/c it's the first song on the Essential Jimi Hendrix CD I've got in my car, so when I start the car in the morning that's what starts playing. |

The best intro ever is in Money For Nothing by Dire Straits. [/ QUOTE ] Fantastic choice. You can't possibly deny that it has an incredible intro. Fantastic driving song. Oddly enough I listened to that song this morning and totally blanked when I read the question. Songs I just like the intros to, but probably don't qualify: Soundgarden - Pretty Noose Pink Floyd - Time Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer Midnight Oil - Short Memory (bizarre song, but I like the 12 string at the beginning) |

[ QUOTE ] back in black [/ QUOTE ] Does that count? It's the same as the verse riff. [ QUOTE ] johnny b goode (by marty mcfly?) [/ QUOTE ] I hope that's a joke, and really don't want to know if it isn't. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah I don't think Back in Black counts. I know what you mean, but it's not really an intro. It's just "the beginning". But point taken. |

Re: Best use of an into in a song!
I prefer a slow intro that builds into a kick ass song:
Stairway to Heaven Styx: Come Sail Away An interesting intro to a song is Wooden Ships by CSNY, I listened to that like 500 time in a row while doseing. |

Re: Best use of an into in a song!
Are you talking about that little 2-3 second sound right before "da-na, na, na NA NA, da-na, na, na NA NA....."? Or the actual "da-na, na, na NA NA"?
Anyway, Black Dog is a good one as well. "reeow, reeow, reeow, reeow, ducka, ducka, ducka, ducka, HEY HEY MAMA SAID THE WAY YOU MOVE, GONNA MAKE YOU SWEAT, GONNA MAKE YOU GROOVE-OOVE" |
