Default Re: When adults were in charge of the House

[ QUOTE ]
For the second and last time, this is not what happened and, of course, not what I "suggested".

[/ QUOTE ]

This is what your first post said at the very beginning:
[ QUOTE ]
Clinton was on the right track with the North Koreans. All Bush had to do was follow through and not f*ck it up.

[/ QUOTE ]

But now you say this:
[ QUOTE ]
The North Koreans, a most unpredictable and paranoid bunch, were trying to go nuclear from way back.

[/ QUOTE ]

So how could Clinton have been on "the right track" if that track led to the North Koreans violating the agreement anyway?

[ QUOTE ]
What I'm quite explicitly claiming/"suggesting" is that Bill Clinton dealt with the issue of a nuclear North Korea with far more intelligence and efficiency than the current White House resident ever did.

Let me give you a for-instance: Throughout the crisis, Clinton was in almost daily consultation with the South Korean president, in order to co-ordinate strategy and tactics.

[/ QUOTE ]
What difference does it make if this was all a boondoggle for us? How can it be claimed that this was "the right track"?

[ QUOTE ]
Read the book.

[/ QUOTE ]
I'll look for it next time I'm in a bookstore, but if the purpose of the book is a bunch of back-patting (of a failure, no less), then perhaps my time would be better spent doing something else...
