hey pansy. stfu! people are here to have a good time, not to take lessons to come back and beat you with.

Current pole position! No humor, simple enough for people to understand, and a somewhat disguised message to not scare the chasers off.

("Xanex" and "free lessons" I still think will promote further trash talk, not [the opposite of promote] it.)

Ask him "Are you fat?", if he replies "yes", come back at him with "me to, everytime i [censored] your (wife, sister, mum etc) she gives me a biscuit." If he replies "no", say "strange, everytime i [censored] your (....) she gives me a biscuit", wait a few seconds then add on a different line "you not getting any?"

"...short, simple, non-complex, non-humorous reply...a reply that might stand a (better) chance to shut him up..."

I use "Hey (insert table coach name) if you think he's playing badly, why would you want him to play better?
Hasn't failed yet.

"Please be quiet"

0% chance of shutting him up.

i think with your guildlines you are going to find it real tough to find anything that will shut t/c up. Do you think he cares what you think?

good luck in your quest

I never said it was easy. I'm looking for a way that have a *better* chance than the humorous attempts. I'm not being an a-hole, just telling what I think about the suggestions in this thread.

BTW, thanks for answering, all.

"Why do you want the people you're playing against to play better?"

It has about a 25% success rate. I think however that you are not going to find any pithy phrase that works more that 50% of the time just because of the type of person you are likely trying to quiet. The best plan, IMO, is to try and get them to leave somehow.
