I think my odds were ~2:1 not 3:1 on the river.

I think it is possible for him to have played AA like this up to the river, but I think it is VERY unlikely he would checkraise on the river if he was playing AA.

I largely agree, it would turn AA into a bluffing hand, unless he thinks you'd call w/ AK.

But some people play tricky just to play tricky, and would c/r all in with their overpair.

What do you make of the turn check blind?

[/ QUOTE ]

They generally confuse me. As dave pointed out, I see this alot more when a BB calls a raise out of position (or any blind/limper) in a HU pot and they generally have a drawing hand (and want a free turn) or in a huge pot where you complete and can't fathom betting into such a large field no matter whatflops.

I dark checked vs my friend a little while back, on the river though, because I was never betting, and sometimes check folding and sometimes check calling. (and I hoped, once again, for the street to get checked down)

So for him to dark check, then check, and then move in is a confusing line.

As said, given the confusion, when things dont add up and a player is tricky, you have 2 pair making combinations of KK or QQ just 1 apiece, I think you have to look him up. (And if you lose the buyin, you lose the buyin, and will never fall for his trickery again!)
