i think i would have played it this way too. however, the ace high flop would have been very concerning. if the flop were not ace high no question that i would have raised the flop and the rest of the hand is quite obvious IMO. did you give any consideration to just calling the flop given that it was ace high and does anyone have any commentary regarding how much better or worse the flop call vs the flop raise would be?

I think you played perfectly. The flop is a fold or a raise depending on the player, never a call. You got lots of fold equity against most stealers here and will usually get a free card the times he doesn't fold. You got 3-bet, too bad. The flop is obviously a call and not a raise because of his flop strength. On the river, oh well mark him down as a LAG to take advantage of in the future. You have to cap.

Don't you think capping is a little extreme against a LAG?

did you give any consideration to just calling the flop...... [/ QUOTE ] Yes, but for the opposite reason that you said. The hand plays the same on the turn and river if I just call the flop, but raising on an ace high flop is better if I have fold equity. He's folding just about zero hands for 1 SB on a non-ace high flop. |

Don't you think capping is a little extreme against a LAG? [/ QUOTE ] A LAG will usually play the much more likely hands, a set or a two pair, the same way. Even LAGs will rarely play KQo this way, especially at 5/10. I think you are good so often that capping is a must. |

Peel isn't bad either. [/ QUOTE ] Why on earth would a peel ever be good here? The only time I could see it is if my opponent was observant, had been at the table for a while, and I had been doing a lot of waiting-until-the-turn with very strong hands and folding the flop otherwise. That's a pretty specific situation. |

Yes, on the river, capping is a must against any opponent based on the way that hand played out. |

Well I wasn't being very clear I guess. Also I meant "The turn is obviously a call" (I wrote flop)... That submit button is a XXX

For those who said the flop was either fold or raise, are you saying this based on the particular flop? If I suspect the sb was stealing, it often seems better to wait till the turn to raise.
