Because I was positive they were all coming along and at this table, my ace still had a chance to be good.

numeri, why are you betting that river into two players on that board?

[/ QUOTE ]

Because he's usually going to be best and it will often be checked through behind him if he doesn't bet and he is best. This is a pretty easy value bet vs. two opponents, especially given the strength shown preflop (I don't think any of us would've put BB on 92s) and the lack of strength shown postflop.

[/ QUOTE ]

Crap. Sorry dude. I misread the hand. I thought you had AK, not AA. nh.

[ QUOTE ]
Why does god kill kittens when Poker players make bad plays? Why not chickens or faeries?

[/ QUOTE ]
Because chickens and faeries are both protected by special interest groups powerful enough that God does not wish to piss them off. Kittens, on the other hand, have no powerful special interest group looking out for them.

Default Re: About God Killing Kittens....

The following four hands are why I love poker:

(hands are back-to-back-to-back-to-back)

Live tourney
Level: I
Blinds: 25-50

Hero is UTG+1 with Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Hero has a few reads and feels the table is weak. Preflop raises are massive (400) and postflop play is extremely weak (big pot overbets, raise all-in to 1000 in a 250 pot with top two pair). Hero has not played a hand yet.

UTG limps, Hero raises to 300, MP2 calls, Button calls all in (150), BB (tight-passive woman) thinks for awhile and calls, UTG calls.

Flop (Main: 625, Side: 450): 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Hero quickly ascertains the situation. Tight-passive BB checks. MP2 looks back at his cards, likely looking to see if he has two clubs. Another player on the table mutters "damn". He probably folded a nine. Hero puts BB on two big cards and MP2 on a weak ace, possibly a suited A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Hero bets 725. Both players fold. Hero wins side pot. Button reveals K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].

Turn: K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
River: 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Awesome. I net 150 chips.

Next hand, hero is UTG with K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

After 20 or so hands, it's been limped preflop to the blinds about 3 times. Hero decides to go for the limp-raise. UTG+1 obliges by making it 400. Folded to hero who moves in. Villain insta-calls with AKo. Hero covers villain by 275.

Flop: Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Villain now has 2 aces and 3 jacks to catch. Villain does not have the A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

Turn: A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

FU.

River: blank

Next hand, Hero posts a blind of 50. Somebody raises to 200, SB calls. Hero looks down and finds K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Hero thinks for a minute and folds.

Board: Q-2-2-7-K

Villains had JJ and KQ. Die.

Next hand, Hero is in the SB with A7o. 3 limpers, Hero moves all-in, BB calls, limper calls.

Flop: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Dipshit redneck bets 300, another players goes all-in for 600, dipshit redneck insta-mucks. Other guy shows Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Hero knows that he's not going to suck out.

Turn: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Hero laughs as the poker gods pretend like they're going to allow him to suckout after the last three hands.

River: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Hero manages to make it home without killing anybody.

Playing some micro while working off a bonus on UB. Not really paying enough attention to have reads.

Ultimate Bet 1/2 Hold'em 6max (6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
Hero raises, 1 fold, CO calls, 3 folds.

Flop: (2.50 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, CO calls.

Turn: (2.25 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, CO calls.

River: (4.25 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, CO raises, Hero 3-bets, CO calls.

Final Pot: 10.25 BB
Main Pot: 10.25 BB, between CO and Hero. > Pot won by Hero (10.25 BB).

Results in white below:
Hero has 3h 3s (full house, threes full of fives).
CO has 6s Ks (one pair, fives).
Outcome: Hero wins 10.25 BB.

He showed his hand instead of mucking, which I guess meant that he thought 5 black cards were a flush.
