[/ QUOTE ] no. First of all, if a playoff berth were at stake they'd play an extra game even if it was only a 2 way tie. Second, it's not fair to double a team's chances of missing the playoffs because of H2H record, in my opinion.

[/ QUOTE ] is it fair to cleveland that the yanks and sox would get 2 cracks at the playoffs? is it fair to the yanks/sox that they have to play a team with an extra games rest just because they (sox/yanks) were contending for a division title while the indiands were just wild card? i guess it cant be made fair. i guess these thing happen infrequently enough that it doesnt need fixing
