Very true in terms of party-atmosphere, but after grad and looking for jobs UCSB is wayyyyyyy behind Berkeley, which has some of the top undergrad programs in the nation. Berkeley has its own little charm that people either hate or love and is liberal but still very diverse. UCSD is the worst of both worlds, not that good academically and extremely poor socially.
