...and as far as parenting themes go: 'I'm here for you when you need me.' and 'I want you to be happy and healthy, wherever that leads you.' aren't bad things to hold on to.

Dear bison

Just wanted to say thank you for your thoughtful reply and the fact that you took the time to respond at all. As strange as it may sound, I was feeling rather depressed over this situation. The fact that you did not mock me or my son meant a lot to me. I will definitely consider your advice.

Dear Bison,

I have 1599 posts, so I'm just one short of becoming a Pooh-Bah. Can I post in your thread to get that lofty status?

Dear bison,

If you lived in an Orwellian police state and they ended up taking you to room 101 due to your unorthodox behavior, what would be awaiting you there?

And oh yea, Detroit What!

Dear Bison:

I'm starting my first "real" job tomorrow, doing office work for a property management company. I have no idea what I'm doing, do you have any advice? Also, I'm supposed to dress semi-formal (nice khakis, dress shirt) and I don't know what kind of shoes I'm supposed to wear, what would you suggest?
