Actually, I'd rather have his hand, because this counts as the bad beat jackpot where I play...

Sit down, play tight aggressive and stack the chips. Works for me EVERY time at the Isle. Except for a couple of regulars and 1 or 2 others at times, nobody has a clue.

was having a good run at 3/6 game. i lost a hand to a slowplayed trips. another guy at the table says, "See that's the only way to beat him. You got to slowplay to win." I just replied with a thanks.

oddly enough, a more tighter than average player sits down and after playing a few hands says to me, "I play like you." um, no you don't. thank you for playing, buh-bye. actually to be fair, i liked this guy. he was good for the table.

I was at a bar's free poker tourney. None of the stack/level details are really relevant, so here is how the hand happened:

I was UTG+1 and open for about 4xBB with TT. guy two to my left calls. Crazy woman with about 3 teeth (I my full set of teeth is more than the entire table combined) calls (she has called with ANYTHING), then the button pushes for about 2BB more. I then push for maybe 15xBB MORE than that (I don't care what you think of my play), and then it is to the guy in MP. He sits and agonizes for about 8 minutes about the hand, then finally folds. The rest of hand is irrelevent, but he shows us (after the rest of the action is over) his A4. He then complains incessently how hard of a fold that was for him to make. I casually, somewhat deminingly, why that was such a hard fold to make, and further indicate that should be an easy fold EVERYtime, regardless of the raise, and then he proceeds to explain to me how:
"Well, the A gives me high card value , which is very powerful."

I almost lost it. I need to be very wary of the power of "high card value" in the future.

I was in the Poker room tonight and I had 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in the Big Blind, EVERYONE LIMPS, so I call.
The Flop comes 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
The pot grows and raises and it is now at least a 25BB pot
The Turn is 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and again More money in the pot.
The River is Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and more betting
I win the hand with Quads and heard a guy actually say these words....
"That is a good hand but your kicker wasn't worth a damn!"

Yeah, I just hate it when my quads lose to the same quads with a better kicker. You never know when that 5th 7 will be out there.

My reply is usually: "I didn't need a kicker. I had Quads-full."
